Visual Arts Workshop: March, 2018
Our visual arts director, Tejus Krishnan, was excited to return to the Boys and Girls Club at Rosa Parks Elementary for our second year partnering with them to conduct art workshops! He designed taught an engaging and creative curriculum that the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Tejus started off by teaching the kids how to draw their own self-portraits--many were extremely excited by this and added their own embellishments. Then, (in honor of the rare sun--a respite from the dreary Seattle rain) he asked the kids to draw in response to the following question: "What does Spring mean to you?" Savitha, Megha, and Vidhya enjoyed helping out during the session. Check out the pictures below of the kids working on their brilliant artwork!
Craft Making Session: April, 2018
Our Visual Arts & Operations Ambassador, Siya, conducted a workshop to teach the kids how to make simple bracelets and necklaces. She helped them spell out words with letter beads and gave them helpful tips on how enhance their jewelry. They were very enthusiastic, and they were creative with their designs. Nisha enjoyed helping out during the session as well. Check out the kids' amazing creations below!
3D Arts Session: June, 2018
Siya, our Visual Arts and Operations Ambassador taught the kids how to make their own creations out of air-dry clay along with Nisha. The kids immensely enjoyed the activity and made unique pieces of art. Siya and Nisha helped the kids make various animals, a snake, an octopus, and even a pikachu. They had fun mixing different colors together and finding creative ways to make new colors. The kids all immediately caught on and had lots of fun in this workshop!
